After my earlier success, it was all down hill. Second time trying to fit this waist band resulted in torn fabric and a gaping pocket that won’t sit flat. Fabric won’t survive another unpicking. Been fighting this skirt for weeks. Time to admit defeat and move on. #sewing #garmentsewing

This is exactly how my wife feels about sewing. She's an expert seamstress, and people come up to her all the time asking for dresses and/or alterations, but it's her hobby and she doesn't want it to become her job.

Absolutely gutted. Last week an unexpected change to by a Featherweight sewing machine at an affordable price. Waited almost a week for supplies (new belt, oil drip pad etc). Spent several hours cleaning/oiling her. Plugged her in for the first test sew… and the capacitor died. #sewing 😞 1/2

Trying to make a structured carry bag for my Featherweight machine. Self drafted, making it up as l go along. Fixing mistakes as l went, it was all going so well until l tried to sew the bottom panel in last. Then it all went to #sewing hell. Lots of unpicking to do and not sure l can save it.

Ok, lesson learnt today. Not all 7" records are played at 45rpm...Many classical recordings are specced at 33RPM. Thank you to @fourinchcats.bsky.social for figuring this out and apologies to Boyd Neel for thinking he was punishing his Orchestra...😀
