And AI is actively hurting litigants. It has caused complete losses - two in just 3-4 weeks. I've done this for 18 years and cannot remember any losses of this type in all that time except perhaps with vexatious litigants.

I am an attorney for the trial court and AI is making my job insufferable. It's not just the confidently hallucinatory cites. It that but more so cites that don't say what they claim (even to statutes). And volumes of paper submitted on simple motions with little or no real lawyering.

i need allies to stop looking at the ongoing horrors that trans people are facing and responding with "wow imagine what will happen when this comes for [others]" yeah that'll suck, can we talk about it happening to us RIGHT NOW? we're more than the canary in the coal mine. we deserve to live too.

i often think about any parallel to bathroom bills, invalidation of licenses, limiting medical access, etc and the answer i return to is segregation - it’s a strong parallel - the creation/implementation of laws state by state that limit a population from public life and resources :(

I do not want to see a single smug ass liberal or blue stater suggesting we need to cut off Kansas from this that or the other thing. No. we help our trans siblings in Kansas. we will be there for them with resources, time, and love. that's it and that's all. they need our compassion, not smarm.

And when we are arrested, in states like Kansas, under their new laws making it criminal for us to exist, this is the kind of treatment that awaits us. This is what trans people, particularly trans women, are facing in prison, when they are arrested as part of the growing effort to criminalize us.
