It don’t take skill nor luck to never amount to much
Highlight of tonight was Britt and Alex doing Bowie’s I Won’t Give Everything Away midset as a duo.

The last time I saw Spoon was the day of the 2022 Cville half marathon. I’m pretty sure that I got COVID for the first time that night, but it was a great show.

DTF St Louis is sublime? Why didn’t it break through more? It’s NOT what I thought it was. Beautifully crafted. Much artier and weirder than I thought it would be. Highly recommend. Need to know about why the police station is unnecessarily wonderful - like a theatre set for a Kafka adaptation. Love

People are right to be mad about the predictable Platner fiasco, but it's worth remembering that last year a ton of establishment Democrats supported disgraced sexual harasser Andrew Cuomo against clean-as-a-whistle Zohran. Tolerating problem men is an issue across the ideological spectrum.

The Mall crossings are once again open & many drivers are once again failing to obey the stop signs or yield to pedestrians. The city should close them permanently—for public safety & for the symbolic statement that on the Mall, if nowhere else, people are more important than cars. But here we are.

Separating enjoyment of a team's results from ownership, scandal, etc is key to enjoying sports. You can apply this to a lot of things.

I keep thinking that I’d still be happy if my preseason White Sox prediction (75-87) plays out, but that’d mean a 28-45 rest of the season and that wouldn’t be fun. Maybe .500 is where I set my sights.

If I pay a fee to watch a single team on
mlb.tv
, I should get to see all of that team's games even if they're available via other outlets.

to me, it doesn't really matter whether a wealthy person giving away many millions of dollars is "just for PR," i want them to keep doing it. take your PR, i don't care, buy my goodwill, the more money you give away does indeed make me respect you more.

One calendar year of Colson Montgomery and he's played 155 games, batting .229 with 43 HR, 106 RBI, an .814 OPS, and 5.3 WAR while playing a very good SS (6 OAA). He's also struck out 194 times, but what's a guy to do?

One of my favorite Fourths as a child was one where the check engine light came on in my dad's Taurus, so we turned around, stopped at Dairy Queen, and went home. I remember eating my Blizzard and watching the White Sox. A good night.
