We watch Mrs Doubtfire maybe once a year and I always think she should have given that old bus driver a chance. Seems a decent aul skin.

Have Your Say on the Basic Income for theĀ Arts
Today's the deadline to have your say on the Basic Income for the Arts. It takes about 30 seconds to complete this important survey. "The benefit to the cultural standing of Ireland in the world where artists have had space to create will be immense. South Korea invested in artists a decade ago and is now a cultural powerhouse in the world. We were once lead by poets, it was part of who were were. We can touch our history again." My contribution.

ReTurn machines should accept bottles or cans that donāt have the logo on them⦠I donāt mean give 15c for them, I mean just take the fucking things. Have it for free, what am I going to do with it? Your business is recycling and you donāt want free product⦠thatās baffling to me.

If you're in Ireland, please fill out this public consultation about the future of the Basic Income for the Arts scheme, the best thing that's happened to Irish artists in a very long time. We need it to continue.

Okay, this is one for any writers or illustrators in Ireland doing children's events. In case you haven't already heard, it looks like Garda Vetting rules are changing, so that you will have to appear in person to show your ID documents for any organization that looks for vetting. 1/5

Saying this with as much love as possible, but please stop using AI generated graphics for activism. Plenty of artists willingly donate their time and work designing for activists, and always have. It's not necessary to step on an increasingly struggling group in order to promote worthy causes.

Just an example of the sick "comedy" we fathers have to tolerate on Father's Day. If you see a father tomorrow, be sure to put an arm around him and tell him his farts aren't smelly. Even if they are, that's nothing to do with being a father, probably an intestinal thing.

It's 30° in London and I hate this heat and I hate everyone who likes it. But dear God the amount of washing I'm getting out. Four loads already, lads. Washed and dried. The last one *bone dry* after 20mins on the line. My ancestors crying joyful tears in heaven. This must be what heroin feels like.

The Leaving Cert, for my non-irish followers, is an ancient, annual ritual where our nation sacrifices its 18 year olds on the altar of carpal tunnel and a lifetime of anxiety dreams to ensure two weeks of sunshine. It is our shameful pact with the Old Ones.
