My little lad has started preschool (he's been at home with my for just under three years)...the realisation that from this moment onwards I'll spend less time with him every week on average has absolutely destroyed me. Why does parenting have to be so brutal man 😭

I really enjoyed Fantastic Four! Such a wonderfully breezy & fun film. Was it perfect? Of course not, but it felt so refreshing given where the MCU has headed...and that soundtrack. Oh man. Bombast at its best with such an all timer of a hook. Gets my blood flowing. Just screams wonder & adventure.

Earphones in ignoring their kids when on a pram walk, tablet out when they're in a car or out eating, glued to screens when at home, phones immediately in their hands when they know how to use them. Is it any wonder kids are growing nervous of social interactions? So frustrating to witness.

Surprised myself by not really pushing my son towards football yet. He's 3 in a few months and I've not sat & watched a game with him yet. He knows what football is if he sees me watching it but his interest in kicking a ball lasts a few seconds. I guess it comes naturally? Dunno.

Obviously it's a long way away for us, given our oldest isn't even three yet, but how have you guys found dealing with the smart phone issue with your kids? Genuinely hoping there are decent societal reforms by the time they're grown up. Don't want our sons anywhere near phones until near adulthood.

DK Bananza has got me gagging for a new Banjo-Kazooie. Obviously the mechanics are v different, but there's just sumat about the mood and level design that feels so so similar. Nowt has reminded me of it more than this. It's what Banjo-Tooie should have been when it tried for the bigger level thing.

Can anyone see any way out of the mess this country is in politically any time soon? The country is very obviously reaching a boiling point and there are incredibly vocal and angry voices on both sides of the political spectrum. It's going to explode and it's going to be very ugly.

Starting to feel for me that BlueSky is the app I prefer to have discussions around things that actually matter away from football. Impossible to have mature, reasoned discussions over on the other place. Just too much hate/negativity. Here you can without having to block half of the repliers.

My two year old had the start of a severe allergic reaction last night. We rang 999 and I had to administer the EpiPen. He thankfully settled very quickly and was taken for observations and was fine etc. NGL, I definitely feel traumatised by it though. We're not even 100% sure what caused it.

DK Bananza is a proper video game. Feels like I'm back playing something on the N64 again. It's incredible. Banjo-Kazooie with the scope of Mario Odyssey, the fun of the Galaxy games and the physics and creativity of the modern Zelda games...and Minecraft? Utterly engrossed by it already.

Here's a grim Friday morning thought for you all - we have 1000% peaked as a civilised species. We'll do smarter things, sure, but we'll never be nicer to each other collectively than we were a decade or so ago ever again IMO. Truly believe it's only downhill from here.

Only realising this since becoming a dad, but society really isn't set up to help families/parents flourish is it? It's a cruel, heartless system that expects people to hand kids off to strangers at the earliest possible opportunity. Absence has been normalised, even encouraged. Breaks my heart.

Anyone else dome the 'stay at home' dad/mum thing? Done it for over a year now as nursery didn't work for us & I can work evenings, but honestly it's by far the most exhausting thing I've ever done. Ha. Ruben isn't difficult either. He's wonderful just parenting - I love it, but it's relentless.

Too many players either need to be protected by having bodies around them or play with no intensity so they don’t get caught wrong side of the ball. Very few of them are strong in duels. It’s really hard to watch a team that was so good for so long be quite this bad. Mediocre FC.
