Living the dream

Anyone who knows me will testify I’m not a very emotional person. Only my kids, my wife and Football can bring my true feelings out. Watching those goodbyes from Bernie, John and now Pep, have done me in though. What a wonderful time we’ve had. Home, away, Europe, Jeddah, the lot. Thanks lads.

Circumstances playing a part but there’s something so English about naming a 26 man squad that doesn’t include Foden, Palmer, Alexander-Arnold and Wharton.

Sad for Palmer as well. If all is right in their worlds they are two of the first names on the teamsheet.

It had to happen at some point and better not to be on the rough end of a last day. In the 20th century the only titles won on the last day that weren’t won by City were Chelsea (won 8-0) and United (won 2-0). No drama. It’s the moments we’ll remember in our old age, we’re lucky to have them.
