Pitch an absurd stipulation for a wrestling match: “Falls count up”: Every time the ref counts, they add one. Too many near falls and you need to get a count of 40 or 50 to win. No DQ, no submission.

Tonight at Commander, I was on the brink of losing; short a blocker and about to die. Then I played a card that converts dmg to poison tokens instead…against myself. It saved the game and I won. My friends had never seen that card played defensively before. I felt like the goodest broken clock.

I’m playing Slay the Spire on A20 with a custom setup: Sealed Deck, The Heart, Diverse, Colorless. Basically my starting 10 and all cards thereafter could by anything in the game. Finally finished with The Defect after infinity million tries today. The Watcher I fear will be even harder.

RIP Rob Grant, co-creator of Red Dwarf. I feel like RD was the last gasp of truly countercultural stuff on public television. After it left the airwaves, it took Python, Blackadder, Fry and Laurie, even classic Doctor Who with it. It also proved that absurdity makes a great canvas for pathos.
