Daft things that students do or say? I once had a class with 10 students in attendance. The register indicated 11. I threw a wobbly about how insulting it was as I have a degree, a pg cert and a PhD and given I teach statistics and programming, you’d like to think I can count to more than 10.

We're disappointed to see Ben Barres's powerful book "The Autobiography of a Transgender Scientist" among the ~400 titles removed from the Naval Academy Library. Needless to say, we're proud to have published his book and will keep it — and his memory — alive.

I went into nerd mode in my session today. Students were generating word stimuli using online databases (MRC/wordnorms/ARC) for a LDT they are creating in @psychopy.org we talked lots about controlling for confounds, the hierarchies in word recognition and being too controlling in experiments. Fun!
