Hats for
#ShowMeYourKnits
this week. I mostly knit very simple hats to use up leftover 🧶 yarn and they mainly go to charity. Sometimes there’s a baby hat.

but I do have a black cat! 🧶 And she is often found with my knitted objects 😊

I don't have much to show for this week's
#ShowMeYourKnits
because I don't really knit socks. I do however sometimes use up oddments making myself bedsocks (no heel, just like popsox but in DK) 🧶

This week for
#ShowMeYourKnits
it's knitting that brings us joy or that we knit to care. I get immense joy seeing the things I knit being worn by friends, family and their little ones. I don't like to share photos of other people and kids, so here are a few knits that were well received by cats 😻🧶

I don’t have many photos of scarves for
#ShowMeYourKnits
this week. I tend to do scarves to use up leftover 🧶 and often start a scarf, get bored or run out of yarn and turn it into a cowl 😊

Dear
#Knitsky
friends. I knit a lot, mostly sweaters, but have never done a top down sweater. I see most people on here knit that way and am intrigued. If I wanted to try it what would be a good simple clearly written pattern to start with? 🧶

WIPs for
#ShowMeYourKnits
this week. As usual I have 4 different projects on the go. A tricky (cable) one, 1 or 2 lacy or textured and one very basic. That way I can knit whatever mood I'm in and whether I'm concentrating, watching TV or distracting myself from migraine. 🧶

Really peeved. Yesterday I made good progress on a child’s cardigan in this yarn 🧶 Until I noticed that the speckles were aligning into what looked like faded vertical stripes ☹️ so it had to be ripped out. The yarn will be saved for a baby blanket in the future.

Sweaters for
#ShowMeYourKnits
1 & 2 are the same pattern that I’ve used many times (King Cole 5004). 2 uses the correct yarn (Riot) 🧶 but 1 uses a mock fairisle (Fjord) which I like. 3 shows I sometimes do cables and 4 is a recent one.

baby knits. I recently made a blanket & all in one with hat (1&2) in Stylecraft Sweet Dreams Unicorn. The yarn doesn’t photograph well so just a close up of the blanket. Very soon I’ll be knitting new versions of 3 & 4 for a December baby - yarn ordered 🧶

Stripes for

The shawl is growing. 🧶 One skein had more of the red tones so I have divided that in half for the start and finish. I’ve just swapped from the first half-skein so this is about 1/8 of the total.

Hi
#knitsky
friends. I'm looking for some advice. I'm knitting a bottom up, seamed sweater from my stash. I want it a bit longer than the pattern so I need more balls 🧶. If I can't find the same dye lot and use another lot number for the sleeves will that work okay?

I think I maybe enjoy using up scraps and leftovers more than the main projects! I use leftovers on hats, bed socks, lap blankets, or stripe 2 or more colours into a sweater

It’s shawls this week for
#ShowMeYourKnits
. I’ve not done many fancy shawls because I don’t wear them. I have this old one (1) for chilly evenings and have used up oddments on several peacock feather shawls that went to charity (2&3). I’ve just started a new version of 1 using some nice wool (4) 🧶
