A Manchester school used AI to deem which books to ban their children reading, then reported their librarian as a safeguarding risk. The list of books banned is absolutely ridiculous, as is the idea that books shouldn't be upsetting.

If children were more politically active they would be quite pissed to be told that their screen time is “the most urgent public health issue” while the largest measles outbreak since the vaccine sweeps their schools because of conspiracies that the adults in their life believed from social media.

"young men are far right" may or may not be true in other countries, but it's just demonstrably not true in britain. they're to the left of every demographic except young women.

exciting to be living in an era where "full automation is here rendering most forms of work obsolete" and "legitimate citizenship can only be achieved through work, even if you're disabled" are not only concurrent ideas, but actively embraced by government.

It does kind of look like BBC staff are all shitting their pants in molten terror, every time some awkward guest says something that departs from the approved narrative, doesn’t it.

We have a Labour MP that battered a constituent on camera and managed to have his conviction downgraded to a suspended sentence and yet ask your MP why they do more for a foreign state than your own voters and you get the full treatment from South Wales Police and the courts.

I've just returned home from filming some b-roll of a pond. now my head is cold so I need to win a free hat. I can only do that by participating in fishmas.

this was the peak of any attempt at journalism I ever made, and it's just a long quote with a photo that says more than any editorialising ever could
