Amazing nights out in Birmingham in the '90s. Never experienced without a can of Red Stripe. I went to the Autechre one with Nic Bullen of Napalm Death/Scorn and he kept saying things like "interesting colour in this bit" to describe the music and I had no idea what he meant but definitely nodded.

This night I remember more clearly... every single detail. For me the star of the night was Mike Paradinas, who upstaged Aphex Twin despite not having dancing bears.

This was a great night, from what I can recall. The main thing I remember at this point is that I passed Alex Paterson on the stairs and he said he liked my t-shirt 👽
