Most councils simply don't have know how many accessible homes they have, how many are needed and whether it is affordable. This needs to change. To begin tackling the accessible housing crisis, housing providers must collect data to understand the scale of the problem. #AccessibleHomesWeek

It really was. I’m so buzzing from what our awesome Green team did today. 375 volunteers (at least) they stopped counting at that point!

Add to this the lack of foot and cycle crossings in East London, the failure of the cycle bridge project, the willing failures of local councils to keep the foot tunnels accessible, and the forcing of another road tunnel on East London.

Ladies and gentlemen: the £2bn Silvertown Tunnel that was supposed to fix traffic 🥴

It is indeed. For commuters, parents taking children to schools on either side, shoppers and many tourists who love the vista from the north side looking across to the Royal Naval College- 4k users a day. Unfortunately neither lift is working today and the north lift has been broken since May.

No messaging at all and the website details are behind the padlocked door (south entrance). It looks like Council staff have completely given up on Greenwich Foot Tunnel. They should be held accountable for all this at all levels but ultimately TfL really must take over now. @london.gov.uk

Paid a visit to the London arms fair today... Found a component for cluster munitions, banned under international law, on full display. Confirmed by staff, and removed swiftly by event organisers. But what else remains? These vile weapons should never be peddled in the UK.

A very busy day with the Half marathon with many users in the foot tunnel. There’s a complete disregard from the lift contractor and the Council who havent even bothered with the basics to ensure the public is warned about the lift not working on the north side. Is it time for TfL to take control?

Seems my prediction was right. There was a higher turnout, Labour did lose the seat and Greenwich Council has its first ever Green councillor!

While people are being bombed in Gaza and war crimes are being committed in Sudan and Congo, the Excel centre is preparing to host the very people who profit from death and destruction.

This is brilliant to see - like the loo code crowd sourcing. But awful that people need to let each other know when the lifts are out of order because no one is taking responsibility for the Greenwich Foot Tunnel as essential transport infrastructure. 🤔

The Silvertown Cycle Shuttle (SCS) takes 10-12mins and runs every 12 mins. It took me just six minutes through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and that's walking my bike, navigating the Lime Bike graveyard and lumping it down and up the stars (both lifts broken again).
