Yesterday's No Kings protests were apparently the largest since the first Earth Day in 1970 The NYT covered that story with a six column headline across the top of the paper and two full pages inside Today, two small pics below the fold and a story on page A23 They constantly let America down

The government is shut down and House Republicans have been on a paid vacation for exactly one month.   While the government is SHUT DOWN. An entire month!

At a recent SASC hearing, Senator Reed asked a DoD official why the US was bombing boats in the Caribbean if fentanyl was actually entering the US from Mexico. The response: "Sir, we're conducting those attacks because the President of the United States directed that we conduct those attacks."

I would laugh if this wasn't so true 😭

It’s actually really serious that every mainstream Republican believes that any American who peacefully protests against Trump “hates America”. Like it’s not just a weird thing they say. It shows how they’ve given up on democracy. And it should freak you out.

Questions: --Are the survivors actually being detained? --If so, military detention or law enforcement detention by USCG? If military detention, no AUMF as legal authority, so bare Article II seems only theory. A problem I flagged when I was first made aware of this scheme to attack boats.
