This is physically unsustainable for all life on earth. The plans for data centers - if they succeed - guarantee that we burn the world down and blow every climate tipping point. The fierce debate here is not just about "speed" but about who gets to decide and how we plan the entire economy.

Data centers are facing an image problem. The tech industry is spending millions to rebrand them.

The Trump admin has pushed Bovino out of the Minneapolis operation, given how much he's made things worse. The person who killed Alex Pretti was a Border Patrol agent. Notably, the admin has NOT backed down from the operation in general. Large-scale arrests reportedly continue.

We need everyone we can get in this fight against a fascist takeover. If your first instinct to someone being politically mobilized by all this is to give them a sneering "well, what took you so long?" you don't actually care about our winning this; you just want to be able to say you were right.
