Although I like the new Ranma anime, I do think the original 80's show surpasses it in many ways. Not least my fave gag. In the MAPPA version Akane actually bothers to clean up the mess from Kodachi's entrance, but in the original she just silently stews in the shoujo villain-infused destruction
