I feel like the sentiment of “adapt or die” as far as adoption of new technologies go is best encapsulated by Patlabor 2 (as many things are). Yes, you can benefit from new technology. No, that is not a substitute for knowing how the system works or having a failsafe should that tech be unavailable.

I just saw the trailer for the new Votoms film coming out in November, and I guess that's enough of a motivation to finally take a crack at the series

A moronic take, but a part of me does dream of a way of experiencing all those cringe-heavy comedies that my friends used to make me watch, with all the content that would make my flesh want to tear itself off my bones and flee the room, safely removed.

I'm currently trying to make something of a dent in a bunch of 80/90's films and ovas that I should gotten around to decades back. So far this season I've gone through Ruin Explorers (solid), Silent Mobius (pretty at the very least) & Dallos (great, if incomplete). Next up: Area 88!
