As the Fylde Coast was thick with fog early this morning I headed up to Leighton Moss to try for Bearded Tit's on the grit trays, there were about 25 showing. Rather than just snapping perched birds I tried Pro Capture on the OM1 mk2, it works very well !

Just watched a Peregrine chase a flock of Pink-footed Geese and then take one down! Seem to to remember reading about previous records of hunting geese (Barnacle?) in the Derek Ratcliffe book but never witnessed it! 🤯

Lesser Yellowlegs at Etton-maxey pits, Cambs. In flight with a Greenshank was nice, also Common Sand & Dunlin. 2 or 3 Wheatears were peachey. 2 Red Kites & a Raven mobbing a Sprawk circled together. Trip was a piece of cake & the bird was sublime. Good to meet Mr Weedon

Thick, low cloud and strong winds prevented any VizMig from getting going on Soil Hill this morning! Fortunately, the morning was salvaged when I flushed a Grasshopper Warbler, before it showed nicely! My latest on Soil Hill by two weeks!

Tiree's White Stork was ringed in a barn-roof nest in central Scania, Sweden on 14/6, it moved to Norway (nr Trondheim) on 10/8 (with 60+ storks) & remained in Norway until at least 8/9. Info from Petter Albinson, Storkprojektet.
