Youyou Tu's work on anti-malarial compounds that saved millions of lives (w/Nobel+Lasker recognition) wins the low citation/huge impact cell. I am noticing a lot of research that I read is problem admiring, finding new ways to repackage problems, and nearly nothing on efforts to problem solve. A whole bunch of easy is rewarded more than hard won difficult.
