One of the most beautiful things that Beverley Martyn (as was) did in this life was offer shelter and solace and hugs to Nick Drake when he was at his most adrift and unrooted. The demos she faithfully kept and which finally saw the light of day on this were a revelation. We should all be grateful.

Sad to read that Beverley Martyn passed away yesterday. She was 79. Beverley had a wonderful voice and I will always love Stormbringer and The Road To Ruin, the albums she made with her then husband John.
