as i recall there was a particularly nasty bit of fallout when shawn publicly reverse-engineered the full name and address of a forum poster who said that the tuckley gestalt page was “a remarkably candid likeness of the artist,” though frankly i’m not even sure it was meant negatively

I believe that biblically accurate angel with absolutely no likeness to Shawn, a point I stress out of fear, is still used as a sort of patron saint of particularly violent MRA groups, which I must stress even harder Shawn himself never interacted with or negotiated a sponsorship to make bail with.

Anyone who tries to tell you Shawn Tuckley wasn't a diehard American patriot is a damn liar. Yes, he may have drawn himself pissing on the flag (and did the same in real life). Yes, he doxxed soldiers. And yes, he made several credible death threats to 3 Presidents. But this drawing stands alone.

The wave of forum bannings that followed anyone mentioning that Jack Thompson was still alive was epic. I remember at one point Shawn tried to claim this was a Lost-style "flash forward" to Thompson in hell and the forum-goers absolutely roasting him over it.

Nintendo actually reached out to me directly after the lawsuit to try to buy my (legally purchased) shirt so they could destroy it. But it has now joined Tengen Tetris in my “Nintendo hates this!” collection

For people who weren't there: the shirt wasn't of the design that's drawn on the shirt in this image, this image was the design on the shirt, Shawn included. I feel like this captures a weird era in RRoD, where nobody was quite sure how serious Shawn was being about anything.

The aftermarket on these were crazy, it was like a 400 percent markup. Even stranger that people had some very compelling evidence that the accounts "re-selling" the shirts all belonged to Shawn.
