I do wonder for those Fantagraphics reprints of specific artists work at Timely/Marvel, do those artists get anything? Or their estates?

I understand comics fans who dislike Roy Lichtenstein, but it sometimes feels like he’s an easier target to hate than the mostly faceless people who ran the comic book companies that truly screwed over creators.

I get why ppl dislike Roy Lichtenstein, but I do think it’s worth pointing out that the companies that published the artists he utilized as sources for his pop art are probably more responsible for what happened to the artists than Lichtenstein.

Lichtenstein discourse circling again. Why doesn’t Warhol get this hate? No one’s ever like, “he took way too much credit for the Velvet Underground and Paul Morrissey’s directing!”
