I went to a local LGBTQ performance art show recently, and one of the performers gave a speech: Nothing we own in this life is really ours. Our homes, our jobs, clothes, stuff, even our freedom can all be taken away. But our voices cannot. Our voices truly belong to us. Our voices are our power.

The Confederates and Nazis were often taken by surprise, made unforced errors, and followed obviously bad plans because their racist worldviews limited their imaginations. That's an important lesson for us.
