Finally got my new to me used Dell Precision 7720 for school instead and I absolutely love it. Even if it's not arbitrarily Windows 11 compatible, it's one less machine out of the trash and another 17.3" beast for me! (I missed having a big 17.3" laptop)

I decided to return the 64MB RAM (8x8MB) stick and chance it with a 32MB 4-chip stick (4x8MB) as the one I got has a compatible code (seemingly), though this stick also has 8MB chips on it, which my 365XD seemed to address fine. Will update you all when it arrives, and Merry Christmas!!

Good news, a 64MB EDO stick was purchased for my 365XD and reads as 40MB, which is good! Bad news, Windows 95 is not playing nicely with it so far, so I'm gonna keep testing it.

So I got the 365XD a few days ago and I'm loving it, but trying to reinstall Windows 95 OSR2 on it through MS-DOS without floppies is actually miserable. Still gonna keep trying tomorrow when I have time, though it's a pain in my tail.

Linux isn't true competition with Windows for a variety of fractious reasons. Apple could be that competition now, but even making their own chips they refuse to be anything other than a premium brand with a niche customer base. So we're all stuck with fucking Windows.
