My hackles always go up a little whenever there's a portion of the story that gets talked about as if it's universally beloved and Everyone Knows It's The Best Actually. Shadowbringers left me feeling like I was Playing The Game Wrong because I didn't have the reaction that was expected of me.

I fully acknowledge that this is me being petty, but I gotta admit that the only effect the inevitable Shadowbringers Discourse has on me is just making me dislike Shadowbringers a little more. It was fine! I liked parts of it! I just kinda resent how much it's become a vacuum for story discussion.

I saw some people defending Vgen's new tagging policy with a "It's good so people can sort out content they don't want to see" sentiment. Genuinely, from the deepest of my heart, if you have a problem with characters showing a little cleavage or thighs, you are part of the problem.

i lowkey resent meteor for the idea in fandom that he is the canon wol. everyone's wol is the canon wol, i am fairly certain yoshi-p has said that before. it's like how there's really equal but separate canons for each languages' localization due to how things get translated.

Meteor Survivor is the equivalent of the stock photo they put in photo frames so they don't look empty on the shelves. You're supposed to remove it and put your own picture (your WoL) in its place. Meteor Survivor has not ever nor will he ever exist in my canon. Any of them.

This utterly worthless piece of corporate Target Demographic Marketing has no place in any version of any ffxiv story. It is not an actual character,and it never will be be. I can use my brain and have fun, interesting characters instead of a John Videogames placeholder.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
