If we stopped burning fossil fuels, we'd save hundreds of billions - simply due to the reduction in pollution. Lungs, hearts, brains, kids, old people, etc. would all be healthier. We'd be less likely to get sick. Chronic conditions would be less likely and less severe.

Moderate Democrats have been telling me this kind of thing my whole life. I'm old enough and have heard it enough times to be immune to its "reasonableness" appeal.
