2xko has effectively been in development for a decade, garnered so much hype on the back of Blizzard drama, lost said hype for so many reasons, finally quietly launched last month apparently, and now they're already downsizing under 3 weeks later. Insane.

tbc, I don't mind the idea of service games. I think it's great in theory. Give me money, and I can make updates. The problem is line goes up, and if you're not exploiting your users, you're running your studio wrong. This permeates the industry to such an evil degree it's considered normal.

Overwatch is a game that breaks my heart because I good memories playing it, and I see the good intentions ruined by the top down mismanagement of Kotick. That said, I'm also more or less done with most service games, and I ain't playing this, deadlock, horse game, etc. They exist to extort money.
