I figured out why I don't quite get "I hate writing but I love having written": I don't know what part of the process "having written" is. Does it mean when you find the last word of a good sentence? Done for the day? Or done a draft? I'm usually mulling something new then, so writing feels ongoing.

I woke up at 4:50 this morning for no reason, but I ended up using that extra time before work to write a fun piece of flash fiction, so I'm in a pretty good mood today (if a bit sleepy).

People keep asking me if I use AI to make writing easier. And I keep telling them: I do not want it to be easier. Whenever I have done any good work, it's because I either thought about it a LOT or I have inadvertently spent ten years thinking about it so it comes easy. The thinking is the point.

Do you know, I wouldn't care if every other writer was using Gen AI (although I don't believe that for a second). I still wouldn't be tempted to use it, for the same reason I imagine a dancer wouldn't care to have an elaborately programmed spinning top do their routine for them.

The most fun I had writing my scenario was writing dialogue for GMs to use to bring the daffy wellness cultists to life: "My tongue is meat and your ears are meat. You understand? Meat talks to meat and meat hears meat. And together... we meet. You understand? Let me put my tongue in your ear."

One other thing I like about this anthology; the writers have very different voices. Normally, this might not be a great thing for long-game cohesiveness. But in the context of one-shots and short adventures, you can find an Incursion that feels right for you.
