What I find most amazing about the rhetoric around McSweeney is how all his supporters credit him with the last Labour win at the general election, but completely ignore just how much the Tories were *HATED* by the general public at the time. Labour didn't win, the Tories lost.

These Labour MPs sound like idiots. And "full speed ahead to uber-woke, net-zeroist, rejoinerism," should go ahead and drop the pretense, they belong in Reform and they know it.

The US really has destroyed every bastion of power that it's had in the space of about a year. It's genuinely amazing to see how much of their power was essentially based on half the world just agreeing to let them be powerful.

You know, as much as there's been issues in UK politics over the last couple of decades the response to the Epstein files, especially when compared to the US, has been quite heartening. There are consequences occurring, and the response isn't dying off.

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals. When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

TLDR: In order to have a "proper" Brexit we need to follow all the rules of the EU so that we can have trade with as few barriers as possible. It's almost like being *in* the EU would be better.

This would be a MAJOR win for Dems. Getting them to separate DHS out of the six-bill funding package means a shutdown wouldn’t risk Head Start, SSI payments, Section 8, NIH, etc. Four days ago, I doubt this would have worked. But with republicans’ backs against the wall, it seems within reach.
