On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast. The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me. But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

A Gloster resident sent me this video of a fire at Drax's wood pellet mill yesterday. No injuries reported. Most of the smoke was from burning wood products (chips, etc.) but the fire likely damaged the mill's dryer.

Meta is sending $5 million to rehab the image of one data center outside of Des Moines Iowa. Their advertising campaign highlights all the jobs the center will add. While data centers are growing, they have been around for a while and studies show they add very few jobs to a community.

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming.
