Working for safer cycling in the London Borough of Havering
We are lucky enough to still have 3 bike shops left in Havering so this is just a reminder that if we want our precious local bike shops to be there when we need them, we have to use them. As always, our list of shops is shown here on our website:

Welsh people and government at national and local level should be very proud of their record in reducing urban/village road injuries and fatalities by 25% in the last 2 years by implementing the national default 20mph limit. Well done Wales, saving life and lives.

We’ve been asked by people if mobility scooters in bike lanes are legal. Here is the guidance:
www.gov.uk/mobility-sco...
So "cycle lanes" which are painted onto the road and which offer no real protection to anybody are NOT open to mobility scooters but any segregated "cycle tracks" ARE.

This photo shows 58 cyclists and just two cars. MPs looking out of their window today will see a steady flow of people cycling, some for the first time in a while, given confidence to do so with quality infrastructure. Just over 10 years ago there wasn’t even a cycle lane here.

The Embankment cycleway (CS3) in London was purposefully built to be wider than was usual in order to future proof it. Some said it would hardly be used. Now there’s a decent case for widening it further. Induced demand is real.
