Just to use this persons example "Why does a character do x" Isnt actually something the audience (or even other people in the universe) need fully understand, and thats okay. Rarely does anyone know so much about the world they live in to actually put all the politics and such together anyway.

I got a LOT of flack on the other site back in the day for saying that worldbuilding is not inherently story. There's something to be said for "just enough" worldbuilding: just enough to build a compelling scaffolding for your plot and characters. If you go too hard, it turns into handcuffs!

Can confirm, when I use my stash of mirror selfies, tracing will initially look BAD. Anatomy is weird, bodies have quirks, camera angles distort. I'm always shifting, resizing, redrawing to turn it into something actually pleasing to look at, and I need the knowledge gained from studies to do that.
