Pushing for livable streets that include bike infrastructure is going to get more general support than solely pushing bikes. Also probably gets more pleasant bike routes.

This is an awesome report, full of evidence and actionable recommendations to help kids walk to school. We urge Councillors to read it, and follow its recommendations, such as implementing modal filters to reduce the volume and speed of motor vehicle traffic in the neighbourhoods around schools.

It's hard to know if the proposed bike lanes would have prevented the collision that claimed Will's life. But there's no good reason a designed and funded bike lane should be held up like this.

Just saw my 90+ year old neighbour riding in the footpath on Barkly st. We need bike lanes safe enough that he'd choose to ride in them.

This is what got me into volunteering at BikeWest. I saw how dangerous the Dynon Rd/ Citylink was while Footscray Rd was closed, I wrote emails to local MPs, signed petitions, told the police while they were out policing bikes and even sent out an FOI request to see why the detour was in place.
