Sorry, for the Char thoughts. It's nothing new, but I felt the pull today after being reminded by a friend of an old take.

Char is certainly a byronic hero. He has a lot in common with Edmond Dantès, including how obscured his motives and intent are from the viewer in First Gundam. I think that is the core issue most have with Char as depicted in YAS's Origin.
