Got a great gift yesterday, a friend who was clearing out an old box of stuff, gave me this! They also appear in White Dwarf 43, July of '83 where pics of five unpainted miniatures include 'Uthmog Elvenblade' whose pose, armour and helmet bore a strong resemblance to the iconic Harry the Hammer.

Interesting that wraithbone wasn’t the original building material of the Eldar. And I have to remember to paint the D-Cannon blue, for authenticity, of course.

It's coming back! Putting the finishing touches on an updated A6 pocket sized, rank and flank fantasy wargame. I've cleaned up the rules and expanded the advanced rules to give more gameplay options.

Trolls! Inspired by the troll from my first Billy Goats Gruff book, but I ended up scaling the blue back a bit.

I built this mine last year using the plans out of White Dwarf 132. I had a great time.

This weekend we played a 15.000 point Warhammer the Old World battle running over three days. Exiting game and good banter. Nothing beats playing with the same mates for 38 years.

Its important to own every 80s citadel miniature because if you don't you'll never find out that this troll, that you've seen photos of 100s of times, is wearing a pig and carrying a human head.

Because mid-Feb is a good time to do a "last year" recap... 🧐 My target was 48 minis for the year, so that's a pretty big miss, but at least I got paint on a few. Emphasises how much I'm motivated by upcoming games: 3rd edition chaos, then BOYL warbands, then One Page Rules at my local club.

I understand why Blood Bowl shifted towards being usually depicted on grass, and with green flocked bases, but there's still something delightfully fun about the old depiction of it being played on "Astrogranite", the hardest, least safe, most injurious possible terrain.

It's from Dragon magazine (TSR house magazine) and is from an article about Space Hulk strategy. Artist is Jim Holloway who did a lot of work for TSR, West End, and FASA including comedic illustrations for Paranoia.
