Renewing my DBS with HR. They need paperwork to prove who I am and are baffled that I get all my statements digitally. They ask if i have any letters from my employer like a payslip or a P60. They ask if I could get one. To do that I have to email HR. No wonder this university is broke.

I enjoy emailing HR at my day job because it's the one time I can get rid of all the niceties of digital correspondence. I'm about one week away from just "K THX"ing every email they send me. The thrill of not saying hello or thankyou in an email to HR is my own personal heroin.

I spent my day building a battery powered spincasting machine for making 15mm metal miniatures. It's actually very quiet, that noise is the horrible extraction system.

1st mork Borg session - my PCs tried to murder one random dude and it almost killed two of them - they are now terrified of combat and are hiding in a cottage.

I'd quite like to make a series of miniature rule systems for really specific historical encounters. like the siege of mountsorrel castle during the barons war, or the last stand at leicester guild hall during the ECW. Just odd little systems for a single super specific subject.

I know it's a bit late but happy pride! I am very bad at observing pride, in part because I wasn't comfortable being out for most of my life, but mostly because I am shit at knowing what day it is. Tune in for Bi visibility day when I inevitably forget to be visible because I'm running on fumes!

Spent last night sculpting a companion to my ghoul giant. The hag is taller, lankier, and arguably more terrifying. I was going to give her some clothing, but all my other giants hang dong so I don't see any reason to break with convention now. Quite happy with the pose - dynamic but easy to cast.

Now that UKGE is gone, the plan is to build a workshop in my garden so i can do mammoth stuff without needing to go back and forth to my studio in the city centre. To say I am excited about the prospect of not needing to do a 2 hour trip every time I need an extra goblin is understating it.

Looking forward to me pre UKGE mcmuffin tomorrow morning. We're setting up first thing friday as I'm teaching today, which means a mad 6 in the morning dash to birmingham. I'm going to need at least 2 hash browns to keep me going.

As warlord games wind down their 2000AD systems, It's worth remembering that heroclix has been going for over 20 years and in that time has outlived basically every miniature comic book system. It's doing something right with its cross genre/universe beat em up approach to these properties...

I've reached the "it is what it is" stage of ukge prep, which means I'll probably run out of some stuff really quickly and then be annoyed at myself this time next week.

I had some work shown at Frieze london in 2023. I hated the work I made and the art fair gave me a horrific chest infection. I managed to get through the fair by drinking my weight in champaign cocktails, then spent 2 weeks feeling like I was going to die. I made no money after costs. never again.

I have started designing a small range of resin dungeon tiles. I've always wanted to do these but for some reason have been fearful about it lest the roleplayers mock me fory subpar tiles. The masters are hand carved from plaster and I'm quite happy with how the test casts are looking.
