Oh man, I didn't use near enough spikes on my version of a Buzzard. So, let's just call these proto-Buzzards and I'll use a ton of toothpicks next time.

Decided to build duos for the #Gaslands Death Race Demo, starting with a military-theme. Customizing #diecast cars with a shared theme is very satisfying for me, even if these will be awarded to players. The cars with these weapons give a retro vibe, especially the Ford as a WWI armored car.

Look at what I just picked up from the neighborhood freecycle group. Such an interesting license mash up. This is a Disney film and is barely featured on the box cover. And that box art is definitely a choice. You'd think that Two Worlds Collide was a subseries, but it's not. It's just this one-off.

Finished build and basecoat on the first three cars for the #Gaslands demo games I'll hold at the #diecast meet. I'll have 10 cars for players in 1-on-1 demo death races. Winner gets to keep the car! They aren't my best builds, but I hope players will like the variety of choice.

The rest of my #diecast haul from this weekend. I wanted to have one of those thrift store haul experiences where I open a Ziploc bag full of random cars. It wasn't quite that, but the Shoe Box and Ratbomb were surprises, which was nice. The Hot Rod Crane Truck is another oversized HW Hauler.

Spent the weekend hitting a bunch of thrift shops in hopes of finding loose #diecast. No luck. There was a collectibles store with mostly carded. Still managed to find a handful of cars and this 1990 Road Champ Winnebago. Definitely the best of the weekend. #Gaslands bus for Rusty's, I think.

Today's #DeskCar is the Matchbox MB1344 1986 Volvo 240 from the 2025 1-125 release. My parents had this car when I was growing up, though theirs was blue. The 2023 debut release of this casting was in the range blue. Hope i find one someday.

Today's #DeskCar is this pair of dark #diecast. The Dieselboy (2006 First Edition) and Fangula (2010 New Models) releases are both in black and with blood red windshields. Together, the two will make a great #Gaslands Tryout Team for Verney. They fit the Death Race 2000 vibe of over-the-top malice.

The dogs gave me a #Gaslands Christmas gift! They customized my Warden and Slime Tryout Team cars. Genuine canine chewed tires! I will need to rebuild the loadouts, though

More 'Mogs for the UniMoG! The United Mutants of #Gaslands are getting #diecast reinforcements. First in a pair of Matchbox Unimogs as a GRL Tryout Team and some heavy firepower in the form of a TankMOG, GunMOG and MissileMOG.

I didn't know that I liked the Dodge Charger until after I started to collect #diecast. I had just been picking up cars that I thought looked cool, not realizing that they were mostly Chargers. Since then, I've tried to get one of each 60s-70s #casting from #HotWheels. I'm still missing about six.

Found another #HotWheels #TreasureHunt #diecast for my nephew! This time it's the '92 Dodge Viper RT/10 as part of the 2026 Drop Tops series. It's a sweet #casting and was recently available as part of the Mattel 80th Anniversary Set from Target.

Today's #DeskCar is the Yatming No. 1014 Saab Sonnet. I don't have any other Saab #diecast in my collection. This is a very simple casting with a flat finish (may have been shiny at one time). It's not flashy and might not even be accurate. But, man, I do like it a lot.

With #HotWheels 2026 E Case sneak peeks out there now, I think #Mattel is skipping the #LunarNewYear #diecast car this year. I started in 2025 and managed to find the previous two years in the wild. I was looking forward to the upcoming Year of the Horse because that's my eldest daughter's sign.

Today's #DeskCar is from a lesser known #diecast manufacturer, Yatming. They were a Chinese manufacturer based in HK and made a lot of cars. I am given these and other less known makers thanks as gifts from friends and family. This is the Yatming No. 1084 '84 Corvette. It's got opening doors.

Today's #DeskCar is the Maisto VW Baja Bug and the final member of the Buggers. All three of the #diecast cars on this team are Baja Bugs, but the scale is a bit off from car to car. The yellow #Maisto is the largest with the blue #Matchbox and the red #HotWheels being a bit closer to one another.

Today's #DeskCar is the Matchbox MB723 Volkswagen Beetle 4x4, the original debuted in 2007 and was retooled in 2014. This is the 2025 MBX Adventurer release. This will also be part of the Buggers team for Slime. It's a different scale than its teammate, the Hot Wheels Volkswagen "Baja Bug".

The Ed Newton's Lowboyz 3-Car Set featuring three retro-futuristic #diecast interpretations of classic cars. The copper Triclopz is inspired by the '48 Tucker. The green Rareflow is based on the '33 Chrysler Airflow and the dark blue Mercohaulic echoes Mercury cruisers.

The build plan will be inspired by the Buzzards from the Fury Road movies, spikes...lots and lots of spikes

#Top10 new #HotWheels #diecast castings for 2025 1. Hoto Roto Not a surprise, if you know me. It's a great mashup of fantasy and licensed designs. I used it to make two of my favorite #Gaslands cars, the Scarlett Scorpion Strikers. It's tough to resist building more using this casting.

I generally try to avoid getting duplicate #diecast. But, still end up with a few because of gifts and forgetfulness. So, what if I convert these twins for a #Gaslands demo game at the diecast meet. Machine guns only, easy track and Death Race scenario. Winner of each match keeps their demo car.

Got the #HotWheels High Tail Chaser from the 2026 B Case, a new casting that looks super cool to me. At this point I'm a broken record, but I love cool part breaks. Check out the rear engine and how the #diecast top and the interior plastic work together. Plus the interior becomes the rear exhaust.

Today's #DeskCar, unlike yesterday's is very clearly a fantasy car. It's the MB1010 Dirtstroyer from 2016 Matchbox MBX Construction series. It's a tractor with a massive set of wheels. Feels powerful, but not very fast. A construction vehicle #Gaslands team could be interesting, though.

Today's #DeskCar is the Matchbox Ghe-O Predator from the 2023 MBX Adventure II 5-pack. To be honest, I had no idea if this was a licensed or fantasy casting. Turns out, it's an offroad car from GHE-O Motorsport. The scale is a bit off for #Gaslands, being a bit larger than it should be at 1:64.
