(1/2) Yeah arm doesn’t feel right in skin today, brain injury fun! So dry brushing. Hit the buildings with the weathering - it takes guts to dry brush bright green on but it works (not all over).

Before the club tonight I managed to get two layers of drybrush on. Zandri dust and bone on the roof. Old wood again and then a grey to age it. Greens next and then they’ll just a drybrush of the base highlights to tie it together and warm them up.

So the contrasts we’re kind of dry by the time I got back to the first building. So thought I’d quickly do the wash. Pot of nearly used agrax earthshade, - liberally applied then mixed with water on the model. That way more variation when the wash drys

Tiny bit of work on the buildings. First Vallejo old wood drybrush (I normally go for more grey wood). Then some deathworld forest in areas. 4th photo stained some timbers with contrast paints. Will give these a wash all over next, before hitting again with the same dry brush paints

Got the ink wash on this batch of ACW - they’d do as is. But the metal figures needed highlights so I’m invested now…

Base coat on the thatch and tidied up the base coat.

Got the acw ready for a wash (minus the drummers arm, who knows where that has gone) Ordered another sprue so I can finish both lots (and of course more drumsticks)

Some dragon rampant tonight. Dug out the dark elves. The witch elves are point blank refusing to stand up though 🤣

Green brown on the terrain pieces to further seal the sand. Next colour up when painting wood and rocks will obvs be green… Also finished hand undercoating the acw

First test batch of ACW done. Perry shoulder arms (will be more bases). Skirmishers from Foundry. Was going to do 3 on a base but looked too crowded. Bases for big games but the basing will work for Sharp Practice with casualty markers. Again will do bases when I have the next batch done.

Test Ottomans. Plan was single highlight like the Russians. But looked too flat, so 2nd highlight in places. Not planning on painting as many so I can live with that decision (now 🤣😜). Will do the bases after next 16. Based for big battles but also in 3 and 4s so they’ll work for Sharp Practice 😀

When you finish undercoating 35 figures by hand and then undercoat under 25 by hand because you’re convinced you’ve run out of spray paint. Then you find a can completely full in the garage.

Finishing touches added to the log cabins. In a brown spray to tie it all together. Did defences as well and again they look like a unified piece now, you can’t easily spot the repairs

Had turned my daylight light off and didn’t have the energy to switch it back on. So very dark shot of the ottomans and union with 75% of highlights done. Also thatch starting to dry - was brushed with watered down pva. Starting to look passable now!

Bit of eclectic hobbying tonight. Got a wash on the acw. An agrax on some ecw for their glow up. Thatch on buildings and yeah some hand painted undercoats.

Undercoated figures earlier but spray can ran out and didn’t have another, so had to finish by hand. All the plastics stuck to temporary bases for painting and all the bits clipped out for assembly

Just worked out that with all my snotlings, 4 pump wagons, a couple of trolls and a giant I can hit a 1k old world snotling army. I have a couple singularly based (count as goblin wizard and hero). Got to be worth it for a club night

Also doing a quick paint job on these Eureka (?) pigs. I’m going with a black pig to represent the breeds Spaniards took over to America’s. Although technically they should be smaller in size. I have painted two previously as another breed. But this is too much research on pigs… 🤣

For over half a year I've been looking for this citadel paranoia miniature. I want him for an experimental plasma weapon but he's very hard to find, why? I think he highlights how miniature collecting now is affected by what people wanted in 1987 or so.
