Victorian Civil War 1872 - 12th (Prince of Wales’s) Light Dragoons. In the autumn of 1872, English forces marched on Cardiff to crush Welsh unrest and seize the docks and castle. A squadron of the 12th Light Dragoons rode out to meet them, proud determined Welshmen - Ich Dien.

Victorian Civil War 1872 - Glamorgan Volunteer Light Artillery Team. Under the shadow of Ebbw Vale's ironworks, Capt Rhys Meredith and his crew stand firm. The Welsh gunners load their 6-pounder and roar: "For Glamorgan, the Prince and for Wales!".

Victorian Civil War 1972 - 28th (North Gloucestershire) Regt stormed into mist‑shrouded Fishguard, Col. Ralph Plowman leading the push. Welsh volunteers fought from every alley and window, but the English forced their way forward. Plowman’s verdict: “Fishguard will yield, one doorstep at a time".
