In the final turn, the Boxers clambered over the wall, sweeping aside the British inf on the right and wiping them out to the man. On the left, the sailors secured both the embassy and Lady Red‑Bush’s impeccable reputation. Everybody loves a sailor, and Lady Red‑Bush is no exception. British win 🇬🇧

The British infantry and sailors knew the embassy garden was their last stand. Despite heavy losses the Chinese kept assaulting the wall, led by the famous Boxer leader Fook Me.

The British escorted Lady Red-Bush back to the Embassy gardens, which would be their last line of defence. Unfortunately for the British gun crew, they were caught by the Boxer “Red Spears“ and slaughtered in the street.

Under the weight of Chinese numbers, the British started to recoil from the attack. “Steady boys, steady”, shouted Sergeant Major Tomkinson.

The Boxer Leaders So Sui Me and Easy Lei rolled forward with their Braves like a tidal wave, whilst the British steadied themselves at the barricades - Front Rank Fire!! Rear Rank Fire!!

The Boxers surged forward towards make-shift barricades, erected by the British to slow the Chinese advance. Given the speed of the Boxer advance, a Scottish detachment re-deployed on the far right flank, with a view to catching the Boxers in a deadly crossfire.

28mm Boxer Rebellion - Played a fighting retreat with my old friend Danny today, using TMWWBK ruleset. The British were attempting to withdraw in good order to the British Embassy, whilst the Boxers were attempting to destroy the Brits and capture the governor’s daughter, Lady Red-Bush.

Jacobite Rebellion 1745 - Clan Mackintosh is a clan from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. The chiefs of the clan are the Mackintoshes of Mackintosh. During the Jacobite rising of 1745 the Mackintoshes remained loyal to the Stuart cause.

Raglan’s 2025 - A turbulent 12 months for sure. Dominated by new knee in Feb, followed by retirement in Sept. The Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. The monastic hospitaller order was created following the First Crusade by Blessed Gerard de Martigues whose role as founder was confirmed by the papal bull Pie postulatio voluntatis issued by Pope Paschal II in 1113.

The 3rd Crusade - King Richard the Lionheart’s Council of War, before the Battle of Arsuf on the 7th September 1191. God Wills It!!

Spanish Reconquista - Arab Tribesmen of the Jund Provincial Division. The jund were a regional force raised to protect a province. It was structured around the tribesman of settled Arabs or nomadic Bedouin who lived in that province, but could also be bolstered by mercenary troops.

Spanish Reconquista - Yusuf ibn Tashfin’s Almoravid Black Guard. If you have ever watched the 1961 historical epic movie staring Charlton Heston, you would definitely remember these boys. Sinister in appearance, the Black Guard truly set themselves apart from the rest of the army.

Spanish Reconquista - Spanish Arqueros. Bowmen were commonplace throughout the Reconquista and the Christian Spanish Lords were known to use their servants as auxiliary archers, usually deployed behind spearmen in the battle line.

Spanish Reconquista - Yusuf ibn Tashfin’s Almoravid Black Guard Archers. The Black Guard were stubborn and tough fighters, who truly set themselves apart from other Berber soldiers. This bow armed unit will combine with spearmen to rain down arrows from the safety of the rear ranks.

Spanish Reconquista - Andalusian Crossbowmen. The Andalusians quickly adopted the crossbow as an infantry weapon. It became particularly popular amongst their militias, who fielded it in large numbers. #28mm #ElCid

Spanish Reconquista - Almoravid Berber Archers. Bowmen were an important part of Almoravid military machine, their massed archery being an effective weapon against the mounted Spanish knights.

Spanish Reconquista - Andalusian Jinetes (light cavalry). The Berber tribes provided a great number of expert horse archers to the armies of the later Kingdom of Granada. The Andalusians bred the best horses in Europe and used them in the traditional light cavalry style. #28mm #ElCid
