Can't wait for a day of 'shouldn't a LLM be good at teaching language?' takes. LLMs are really fancy autocorrect and cannot teach anything outside of 'this word comes after this word a lot'.

I'll give you the short version: they sponsored & supported the most influential AIDS denialist group of the 2000's, resulting in national policies in South Africa that caused an estimated 330,000 deaths there. They have never apologized or acknowledged what they did.

Like a fool I assumed that the use of 'crash' here meant that two drivers hit each other with their cars and the pedestrian was hit in that mess, but no a driver killed a man.

If anyone in the neighborhood is thinking of starting up a gym habit at the YWCA on Selby and wants a gym buddy let me know! I am an evening/afternoon goer, if you are looking for a morning buddy I cannot help you - I am far too crabby in the morning to subject anyone to that.

I don't understand the men who feel lost in their identity, like they don't know who to be, like they don't know how to find love. There's a whole manual that tells you. It's called Lord of the Rings. Just be Samwise Gamgee. They even made movies about Sam. They're pretty good movies.

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

"Death of the artist" means when Amy Tan says "I did not intentionally put numerological symbolism in Joy Luck Club" you can go "ok but unconscious-you is very clever and it's in there anyhow." It does not mean "it doesn't matter if JKR is a terrible person."

It's telling that one of the letters in MyVillager complaing about the Summit bike path mentions e-bikes speed - not as a concern for other riders on a bike path but as 'these unregulated vehicles... racing down a new separated strip of asphalt in front of their homes'.
