Gentle reminder for everyone (but especially neurodivergent folks, myself included): just because something is interesting and meaningful and makes you happy doesn't mean that it can't also be extremely taxing, stressful and exhausting at the same time. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Even better! They were the former-SSPX-affiliated groups who disavowed Lefebvre after the original Econe consecrations, so they schismed from the schismatics to go back to the Catholic Church. JPII treated them very gently:

oh my god okay this is even funnier, so the Ecclesia Dei groups they were mad about before are former SSPX members who didn't want to be schismatics after the first batch of SSPX bishops were excommunicated in 1988. they must feel sooooo betrayed by these guys. this explains how salty they sound!!

SSPX apparently focused their entire June newsletter on bitching about a new book FSSP published on the eve of SSPX's big illegal bishops Mass its title basically translates to "Can You Make Bishops Without the Pope's Approval?" and the book's central thesis seems to be "well obviously no"

so I am not an FSSP (Fraternal Society of St. Peter) expert, but my understanding is that they align with SSPX in the rejection of Vatican II's reforms of the LITURGY (i.e. they are also Latin Mass truthers) but do NOT align in the general area of "fuck the Pope, we gotta do our own thing"

even better than SSPX sending the Vatican a memo that's like "um ACTUALLY according to clause 14b, subsection 36 from the Council of Trent, we are not owned," there appears to be an incredible "the girls are fighting" scenario brewing between SSPX and an extremely similar org called FSSP

actually, to anyone bringing a film camera to a BTS concert: you want 800 speed 35mm film. I know what the internet says and I want you to know that a concert IS a challenging, occasionally low-light shoot and only 800 speed can get you crisp quality w/o horrendous motion blur.
