1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:

I am livid that my student who submitted a diversity F31 and received an outstanding score, near the top of the fundable range, was told to submit again. Refusing to fund F31s from URMs while funding regular F31s from white/privileged students with worse scores is blatant discrimination.

I need sweatshirts to be considered appropriate workwear in academia bc if I have to live through these attacks on higher ed, I at least want to be in comfortable clothes
