If my experience in academia has taught me anything it's that logging in to my same account on my same computer requires 2FA *every time* lest someone hack in and see my course schedule, but the forgery-proof method for approving things is to paste in a JPG of one's signature into a Word document.

So tiring. I had a chance to talk face to face with ppl in power positions who by default thought my gender & critical thought imply I know nothing about AI. Within 10 min they realise they know nothing about AI. Why do women need to always do massive meta-labour to even get an ounce of respect

the first two years of this semester have gone by really slowly

My husband and I wrangle multi-site datasets with thousands of individuals, organize TAs for college courses with over 700 undergraduates regularly in our jobs, and yet we have once again this morning failed to come up with two matching socks for our toddler.

One of my amazing students defended her thesis today, passed with flying colours, but the real story was how she gave every member of the committee a simultaneous heart attack by referring to a piece of research that was published in “the 1900s”

I’ve done this for 2 weeks now and it *absolutely rules*. Best class discussions I’ve ever had. Best engagement with readings. They write in this worksheet for 15 minutes, then talk about their responses in groups of 3-4, then groups share with the whole class, and *then* we talk about the readings
