@davechen.bsky.social what do you think of the new AirPod pros? I just heard the episode where you talked about falling asleep with them. I am trying out the new ones and they feel like they come out a little further from my ears than the last gen. Wondering if it’s just me.

The new South Park episode is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Kudos to Parker & Stone and their team for truly laying it all on the line on a huge stage just straight up spitting facts in the most damning way with I assume much to lose. It makes me so happy seeing people unafraid.

Animal Well turned from pure joy to pure rage very quickly. Many spots where a small mistake results in redoing long sequences. I think I’m nearly done but this simply isn’t worth my time and I may have to put it down.

Listening to Polyphia for the first time in a while and thinking about the different genres I hear in their music. Along with the obvious prog rock, I hear a lot of heavy synth electronic music influence with trap. But then also I really hear a lot of gospel, especially in the drums.

I love this man even more now. It really saddens me to see animals, even dogs, made to do things they clearly wouldn’t consent to doing in movies sometimes. It is heartening to see a director acknowledging it and leading the way. It is not worth turning a wild bear in a prop to make it look “real”.

Theater Camp is one of those movies where the last 15 minutes crescendos in really great spectacle to try to trick you into thinking the rest of the movie was good

I'll repeat a tip I used to find people when I got here: find one person you know (usually the person who invited you) and go through their following list because there are probably mutuals there. Repeat with those mutuals. Soon you'll have a nice timeline of familiar folks. But find new folks too!

I’m really enjoying Bluesky right now because it reminds me of the early days of Twitter. When only the “tech celebs” I liked were on there and then just random people. So I would just browse and actually have discussions. It was more of a conversation space as opposed to just scrolling and reading.
