Even as night falls, the heat remains unrelenting across France. @ 9 pm local time, some towns are still recording humidex values up to 50°C (122°F) Even at 9 pm , Romilly-sur-Aigre in north-central France remains 35.6°C (96°F) with a dew point of 27.4°C (81.3°F) Extreme, even, lethal, heat

It's "bonfire night" here in West Mayo, so we've to close all our fucking windows and doors, during a fucking heatwave, to keep the toxic smoke out of the fucking house. Culture my bollocks. Some people are just burning rubbish.

A west of Ireland

"Clew Bay #3" is one of a series of miniature paintings I did. There were several views of the County Mayo bay in the series, because every view of it is ridiculous. Annoyingly though, people always want to tell you they know a better view. Ha.

The AI graphics are everywhere locally, amongst businesses and community organisations. For a town with an arts festival, and which supposedly values artists, it's sickening to see how prevalent the AI slop has become here around Westport.

At some point the State decided it was going to stop building public housing. Nobody ever put that in a manifesto. The Ministers under whom the policy was implemented explicitly denied it was their policy. But it happened. And it has hobbled our society ever since.

In the 1920s, a New Jersey pathologist coined 'punch-drunk syndrome' to describe the tremors and slurred speech he kept seeing in career boxers. For decades we assumed it took boxing or American football to do that to a brain. Soccer players' brains tell a different story. 🧵
