[Titicut Follies] brought viewers into a previously closed-off place and established an important truth that Wiseman would return to in the 43 documentaries that followed: You canât separate people from the institutions theyâre part of, and their actions are shaped by them in powerful ways.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Frederick Wiseman. I took a documentary film class in college, and the screenings of High School, Hospital, and Titicut Follies are burned into my brain. Incredible body of work, so influential. RIP.

also, when you are terribly mid at something, you enjoy it for its own sake instead of immediately trying to figure out how to monetize an otherwise fulfilling and enjoyable hobby. Normalize doing things simply because you enjoy them, regardless of how good (or not) you are at them.

Oh hey friends, if youâre a Verizon customer and they are trying to give you the $20 desire for the outage the other day, DO NOT TAKE IT. You donât have to even call them. Get onto the web chat, type in âagentâ, tell them the outage affected your work, and say youâve been a customer for X years.

Iâd never tell anyone they MUST* understand JavaScript to work on the web, but I will make the case that one SHOULD*. To understand JavaScript is to know the boundaries of how users can interact with your medium â any role is improved by that.
