Listening to Aza and Marisol comparing favorite ways of killing people and making it look like an accident is one of my fave things in Outer Worlds 2

Something that really hit me in Outer Worlds 2 btw is how sharply it communicates that under the world's hyper capitalism (which isn't so far off our own tbh,) the only art that is ever appreciated is that which can somehow serve a corporation. ie the corpo radio station is literally only jingles.

Still alive just addicted to the #OuterWorlds2 man I'm loving this game a lot. Definitely an improvement in a lot of ways over the first game for me but I just got to the second area and I'm taking my time with the game.

After 35hrs and doing all main, side & companion quests i'm finally done with The Outer Worlds 2. Overall this is my favorite @obsidian.net game, they did a really great job building upon the first. Its all a little bit bigger and denser without being bloated. Really great game. #TheOuterWorlds2

Playing The Outer Worlds 2 this weekend. The story has a more serious tone than first one, but I’m trying not to compare too much. I love the upgrades to skills and perks. Nice to switch to 3rd person now and then too, just to admire my character I named Major Fox.

For those idles, we played part of a song for the performer once and told them: You don't have to remember it well. You don't have to be good, in fact it's better if you're not. Think "singing in the shower."

It's cool comparing playthroughs of The Outer Worlds 2 with the guys from work. The little differences all depending on how you level your character are so satisfying. Choosing the Lucky trait has lead to me finding some cool weapons pretty early, where there was common loot for them

This Outer Worlds 2 clip was posted on Reddit with the note: "This tiny moment is my favorite in the entire game, a guard NPC is singing the radio songs to himself." I worked on that mission so heard that clip 100x and it was never not funny to me. Thanks Andrew Kishino for the great performance!

Here's my Outer Worlds 2 character after just over 20 hours in the game. My initial idea was to max out speech and then hacking and lockpicking but my flaws have put a stop to that silly notion. I'm actually really enjoying seeing new flaws pop up as the game reacts to my play style.

FINALLY beat Outer Worlds 2 after 76 hours and like, a dozen different build restarts, getting a real good ending on my first go. It's the best @obsidianent.bsky.social game I've EVER played. It's so incredibly good, there's so much to find and miss, I adore it. It's very, very good.

A lot of this thread is exactly my thoughts, really. SO much about what you do in this game matters in such unique/special ways, it's honestly the closest a game has gotten since BG3 released to doing what that game does with player agency.

Just played the quest that connects to The Outer Worlds 2 Secret Level episode 🥹 It's really cool how this relatively new IP can have expanded content that can uplift the mainline game.

NEW: After my last piece about what's slowing down game development, folks wrote in to ask "why didn't you talk about bad leadership?" It uhhhh never came up. So I returned to the well and asked devs to explain why better leadership—not AI or any other tool—is vital to efficient game development.

I will not say WHY it's super interesting, but I will say that I'm not sorry I picked the Lucky trait in Outer Worlds 2. Some really unique outcomes are indeed correct. 😂

Part of what I enjoy so much about the “Flaws” mechanic in The Outer Worlds 2 is the mindset it encourages. A “Relax! We’re gonna have a good time, don’t worry about perfection and embrace the winding, branching path” mentality. It helped me be able to go with the flow. #TheOuterWorlds2

The Flaws system in Outer Worlds 2 is really cool. Game is like “oh you like minmaxing? What about…the DEVIL’S minmaxing??”

Started a new playthrough yesterday (well, *re*started after it occurred to me—on Dorado!—that I should have picked Brawny for my lovable Lucky/Dumb meatball) and was delighted to discover how different things are when you side with Kaur instead of Milverstreet. Y’all really killed it, man.

Icymi: We're really happy if you miss out on a bunch of stuff the first few times you play through The Outer Worlds 2. Because there are A LOT of consequences and reactivity to your decisions. One reviewer said playing a second game was like an entirely different game. I'm still finding new things.

The Outer Worlds 2 is giving me a lot of pleasure. My three favourite companions of the six, not got a pic of GARY who'd also rank.... It's all so very well done with the voice acting and the options of what and how, and the questions it's asking around the swiftian satires it plays against.

The RPG systems are also excellent, and definitely incentivizes repeat playthroughs. You won't be able to get every weapon, or armour piece, or good outcome to a quest, or dialogue tree, and that's great. Because it means you can run through and experience the game from a different perspective.

After sinking over 25 hours into Outer Worlds 2, I can say it is a massive improvement on the first. Combat is improved massively, feeling more akin to Cyberpunks gunplay at times. Companions, questlines, dialogues, skill checks, the flaws system, visuals. Everything is just... Fun.

Being a social butterfly at the dog park can really take it out of you.

Today I finished The Outer Worlds 2 and I instantly wanted to start another playthrough as a neutral bounty hunter ex-convict. I completed every single side quest I could find except one and the companion storylines were all super satisfying. I might actually start a second one tomorrow.

Possibly due to my ADHD, I rarely read any onscreen game text longer than an FTL update, but I read every terminal and journal in the original Outer Worlds because they were so well-written, funny, and concise. So I tried my best to hit that bar for them in The Outer Worlds 2.

It was my birthday last weekend and one of the best presents was being able to hang out while my spouse played the game I worked on for the last four years.
