I spent a lot of my visit to Chester walking along the city walls. This was my favourite bit, around the Kaleyard Gate. In this weekend’s painting, the ancient wall is framed by 18th and 19th century buildings and trees. In the distance is the King Charles Tower. #painting #chester

I’ve just read this wonderful @blackarchive.co.uk book by @0tralala.bsky.social. I loved the tone and the structure. A really thought provoking mix of diligent research and original theories.

I was blown away by Chester Castle, and the complex of Greek revival buildings that Pevsner describes as the finest in England - the focus of my painting. In the background are the remains of the medieval castle, in the foreground, the equestrian statue of Viscount Combermere. #chester #painting

I just finished this - another thought provoking @blackarchive.co.uk book from @obversebooks.co.uk, full of original ideas and observations. I loved the chapters on the sound effects and music, the possible influences on the script, and the Dalek design. Excellent work by @oliver-wake.bsky.social.

Listening to nothing but Cale music this week has reminded me that a lot of the songs I wrote (when I used to write songs) were hugely influenced by his work. What a great artist. Like D Bowie, even his awkward 80s is scattered with fascinating creations.

RIP #MichaelKeating 'the funny one' and my instantly favourite in Blake's 7 when I was a kid. Rewatching as an adult you see his ingenious performance bringing an edge of reality to things, his cleverness, and often being the conscience of the gang.
