Heard a woman on a radio phone in earlier complaining that her teenage granddaughter had big mood swings, could be uncommunicative, "away in her own world" and didn't always want to talk to her family. All down to her evil phone and social media use, apparently. Sounded like a normal teen to me.

Now finished, and a fantastic read, one to recommend. The detail delivered around the recordings from ‘Colour of Spring‘ to ‘Mark Hollis’ is quite excellent. Lots to soak up and lots to ponder. As it should be 😎

Highly recommend! The Talk Talk book is essentially a biography of 4 extraordinary albums - packed with insights and both personal and technical detail, and the John Martyn book is utterly unflinching; fascinating and desperately sad in equal measure.

I’ve had lots of lovely feedback since In Another World was published a fortnight ago. Today I've heard both "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" and "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" and it was like meeting the same person before and after they've consumed 12 pints, a fistful of diazapam and half a bottle of cooking sherry.
