Last night I had an idea out of nowhere for what is quite possibly the silliest stupidest and yet best original comic idea I have ever had.

So I had a general with a dep head at a major streamer. First time that's happened. He 1. told me he was really impressed by my sample. 2. Pivoted the convo from staffing to development and wanted to know my interest in developing. And 3. later called me a "bonafide idea machine."

I spent about two months trying to slowly build a tik tok for promotion and stuff and it was working but then someone hacked it and now it's gone. is this my sign to never get hip with the times or what

anyway what I'M doing is going back to working on my 233346 specs so I can keep trying to sell movies and make my own shows which feels insane when I'm at the career stage where writers room should be the goal and are the goal and are the dream.

I was loosely pitching a horror concept i've had for a while to a producer friend the other day and she kept going "oh -- ew, ugh, ughghghg, ew" and shuddering. Which is how I know I need to write it. But I genuinely do not know if I can.

I'm behind on dues (because times are rough) and thus can't vote for the WGA (a policy that really bugs me still) but if I could @mikeroyce.bsky.social and @reallymighty.bsky.social would be getting my vote ten times over and I highly recommend they get yours too!

One thing I love about writing comics/graphic novels is other people joining the team and feeling like a kid like letting my friends come see my Barbie house like LOOK WHAT I MADE and then they bring all their other pieces you didn’t already have and suddenly it’s the coolest Barbie house EVER.

weird confession time: since tweeting this, I have been like absolutely fricken paralyzed. I have no idea why. it feels like backwards depression. Everything is going RIGHT and yet I can't move, creatively, work wise, my brain feels stuck, pages sit empty, i've done nothing and I'm exhausted.

A thought: could I we make a little group of upper level WGA writers willing to read lower level WGA writers - say one script per month? And those LL’s will pay it forward and read one assistant or pre-WGA person per month? Just a way to open up advocacy for one another and connection?
