I think it’s important to point out: ICE does NOT have the same authority as a police officer. They do NOT have the power to enforce laws, only to engage in their specific tasks. IE: they don’t do traffic, etc. impeding traffic is not a penalty ICE can enforce against

Say this for the Germans, and yes, even for those who went along with the Nazi party: Germany starved through World War 1. Imagine we just fought a war in which 3 million American servicemembers died, and then we were blamed for the war, and the economy went into a tailspin with 25% unemployment.

What we are learning today is that at least half of this country would happily join the Nazi Party, and this insight is coming to us with an unemployment rate of 4.4% and growth around 4%. Not losing soldiers in foreign wars. Not facing armed invasion. A country just spontaneously losing its mind.

The reason some of us can barely keep it together right now is I have family members who would be delighted to pay an ICE killer $50 to shoot someone like me in the face. Maybe not me specifically, but someone like me. That distinction not a lot of comfort at the moment.
