Flu cases in England aren't surging. They've dropped slightly in the last week. What we're experiencing, and what's causing the critical incidents, is the cumulative effect of high levels of flu and covid and all the other viruses people have been trying to give each other constantly this winter.

Excellent and depressing thread! Add to this that the JCVI, despite claiming that it considers vaccine impacts on reduced hospitalisations inexplicably doesn't consider vaccine impacts on reduced hospitalisations of babies. Hence they no longer advise Covid vaxx during pregnancy!
